Mater Dei’s Ticehurst Plans to Attend USC

Brad Ticehurst of Mater Dei made an oral commitment to USC, Mater Dei baseball Coach Bob Ickes said Thursday.

Ticehurst, a shortstop, was an All-Orange County selection by The Times and also an All-Southern Section Division I selection. In 27 games last season, Ticehurst hit .427 with six home runs, 23 runs batted in and 14 stolen bases.

Lynn Lovingier of Calvary Chapel made an oral commitment to play women’s volleyball at Tennessee, said her mother, Jan.

Lovingier, a right-side hitter who has helped the Eagles earn a No. 10 ranking in the county, decided to attend Tennessee after visiting the campus last weekend.
