Northridge Fashion Center Bounces Back: The Broadway department store will be the first merchant in the quake-devastated Northridge Fashion Center mall to reopen, on Friday. It will be followed Nov. 17 by Sears. The mall--the scene of some of the most startling and memorable images from the Jan. 17 temblor--including the dramatic rescue of a worker trapped in a collapsed parking garage and a destroyed Bullock’s store--had originally been scheduled to fully reopen by the holidays. But the damage was so extensive that the remaining merchants are now expected to return at various times throughout 1995.
