Hewlett-Packard Profit Up 60%: A 25% increase in orders led to the fourth-quarter gain, the Palo Alto-based company said. Hewlett-Packard Co. earned $476 million, or $1.83 a share, for the three months ended Oct. 31. The company had earnings of $298 million, or $1.18 a share, for the comparable period last year. Revenue for the quarter was $7 billion, a 23% increase over the 1993 period.
