ST. LOUIS — A TWA jet taking off from Lambert Airport clipped a small private plane that stalled near the runway Tuesday night, killing two people aboard the private plane.
There were eight minor injuries on the TWA jet, an MD-80 carrying 132 passengers to Denver, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Sandra Campbell said. The jet was evacuated after the 10:15 p.m. accident.
Campbell said two people were killed. She said the twin-engine turboprop had been headed to Iron Mountain, Mich. Officials did not know how the small plane got in the jet’s path. No information about the victims was available.
