UC Irvine 88, Cairns (Australia) 79--Senior guard Chris Brown scored 12 of his 20 points in the second half, and UC Irvine overcame a nine-point first-half deficit to win at the Bren Center. Irvine shot 58% and Cairns shot 33% in the second half. Junior guard Raimonds Miggineks scored 16 points and had nine assists for Irvine.
Townsville Suns (Australia) 71, CS Fullerton 70--David Blades made the second of two free throws with six seconds to play to give Townsville an exhibition victory at Fullerton. Fullerton’s Chuck Overton missed a three-point attempt as time expired.
New Zealand 68, CS Northridge 51--Northridge shot 28.3% in losing at home.
