Kansas State quarterback Chad May, a former starter at Cal State Fullerton, was selected first-team All-Big Eight for the second consecutive season, the school announced.
May led Kansas State to an 8-2 record and an Aloha Bowl berth Dec. 25. He completed 59% of his passes for 2,445 yards.
Kim Hamrock of Huntington Beach advanced to the final of the women’s division of the U.S. Amateur Surfing Championships Tuesday in Sebastian Inlet, Fla.
Jason Bean of Huntington Beach and Philip Harnsberger of Santa Barbara tied for fifth in the senior bodyboard division.
