VAN NUYS — Montclair Prep’s Akil Anderson certainly isn’t feeling any effects from the knee injury or concussions that slowed him this season.
After posting a 231-yard rushing performance last week, the junior tailback exploded for 424 yards and four touchdowns to lead Montclair Prep’s 50-8 rout of Big Bear in a Division X quarterfinal Friday night at Valley College.
Montclair Prep (9-1) will play Kilpatrick in a semifinal Saturday.
Anderson, who had 125 yards and a touchdown in nine carries by the end of the first quarter, had runs of 11, 12, 14 and 52 yards nullified by penalties.
“After tonight’s performance, I’m sure I’m 100%,” said Anderson, who had 41 carries and scored on runs of one, two, two and three yards.
Demetris Green (one-yard run), Siggy Jackson (six-yard run) and Rashawn Jones (40-yard interception return) also scored for the Mounties.
Montclair Prep limited Big Bear (8-3-1) to 112 yards.
