Anaheim Servite 34, Lake Forest El Toro 19--David Bedard rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns and Frank Patti gained 105 yards in a Division V semifinal at Mission Viejo High.
Servite, which won back-to-back Division I titles in 1982-83, will play Newport Harbor on Friday.
It was the Friars’ offense that got them to the final. They had scored only 19 points in two playoff games but finally broke loose in the second half. They finished with 340 yards rushing.
Bedard scored on runs of two, 39 and 23 yards. His last touchdown, with 48 seconds left, clinched the victory.
Servite’s defense, which had three consecutive shutouts, was strong again in the first half. The Friars allowed only 62 yards in the first half.
