bake and shake: v. to cremate a body and scatter the ashes. “It’s going to be tough to bake and shake that guy; he must weigh 400 pounds.”

china: n. a plain wood coffin. Years ago, many Chinese laborers were buried in these.

good and plenty: n. a container of cremated remains. When shaken, it sounds lke a box of Good and Plenty.

in and out: n. a funeral home whose volume of cremations invites suspicions that it is burning more than one corpse at a time. “They have to be an in and out; no one can do that meny cremations in a day.”
*
slumber room: n. a room off a funeral parlor’s main chapel where the loved one rests.
