OXNARD : Man, 83, Dies After Being Struck by Car

An 83-year-old Oxnard man was killed after being struck by a car while walking in the street near his home, police said Sunday.
Dominador Elayda Eclarino died at St. John’s Regional Medical Center as a result of head injuries he suffered when a car driven by Elsie Nordstrom hit him. The incident occurred on Patricia Street near Bevra Avenue in Oxnard about 9:20 p.m. Saturday.
Eclarino couldn’t sleep and was out walking when he was struck, Senior Deputy Coroner Dale Zentzis said. He died a short time later at the hospital.
Nordstrom was questioned by police and released, pending further investigation.
