Northrop Grumman Gets Navy Computer Contract: The $155-million engineering and manufacturing development project is to upgrade the mission computer in E-2C Hawkeye airborne early-warning and control aircraft. The contract is one of the first under a Defense Department initiative toward increased use of commercial, off-the-shelf equipment in military systems. The engineering development and software integration will be done on Long Island, N.Y.
