COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Point Loma Nazarene Ends Skid With Win Over CLU

Point Loma Nazarene entered Tuesday night’s nonconference men’s basketball against Cal Lutheran with a three-game losing streak, but one never would have known by the way the Crusaders handled the Kingsmen in a 93-71 victory at San Diego.

Cal Lutheran (4-2) trailed, 39-33, at halftime, and Point Loma went on an 11-4 run early in the second half to break away.

Beau Pack scored 26 points--including 17 in the second half--for Point Loma (5-3) and Terence Johnson added five points and 12 assists.

Derrick Clark had 15 points and seven rebounds for Cal Lutheran, but he played only 25 minutes because of early foul trouble.

Point guard Dave Ulloa added 14 points, seven assists and four steals for the Kingsmen.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Pepperdine 67, CS Northridge 39--Maureen Batiste collected six points, seven rebounds and three assists, but the Matadors suffered their fourth consecutive setback in a nonconference game at Northridge. Carrie Dormire led the Matadors (0-4) with seven points and Shannon Crouse and Cathy Mahoric added six each.
