School Board Selects Slimmer as President

GARDEN GROVE — The Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education has named Kenneth H. Slimmer its president for the next year.
The board unanimously approved Slimmer at its regular meeting Tuesday night.
As president, he will preside over meetings and represent the district at special functions.
The board also elected Joyce T. Johnson as vice president and clerk. Her duties will include running meetings when Slimmer is absent.
During the meeting, the board’s two new trustees, Terry Cantrell and Bob Harden, took their oaths of office. Their terms of office are four years.
