LAUSANNE, Switzerland — North Korea accepted an invitation to compete at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, ensuring a turnout by all of the 197 nations invited for the Centennial Games, the International Olympic Committee said Wednesday.
The IOC said it had received late confirmation from the North Koreans that they would take part in the Atlanta Games.
It’s the first time in the post-war era that all nations affiliated to the IOC have agreed to compete in the Olympics.
