Titan Women Rally to Defeat UNLV, 72-66

Dee Braxton scored 31 points to help Cal State Fullerton rally to defeat Nevada Las Vegas, 72-66, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game in Las Vegas Friday.
Fullerton (4-11, 1-5 in conference) trailed by three at halftime but outscored UNLV, 47-38, in the second half.
LeAnn Kazmer, from Orange Coast College, and Amy Wunderlich each scored 16 points for UNLV (3-11, 2-4).
In another Big West Conference game:
New Mexico State 81, UC Irvine 49--The Anteaters (7-8, 2-4) shot 38% from the field and committed 28 turnovers. Anita Maxell had 28 points and 12 rebounds for New Mexico State (10-7, 5-2).
In nonconference men’s basketball:
UC Santa Cruz 83, Chapman 82 (OT)--Toby Curto scored 24 points for visiting Chapman (8-7).
In men’s swimming:
UC Irvine 119, New Mexico State 114--Sophomore Rick Sarkisian won the 1,000 and 500 freestyle for Irvine in its second victory.
In women’s swimming:
New Mexico State 123, UC Irvine 120--Adrianne Beauchamp won the 1,000 freestyle in 11:08.50 and Danielle Bries won the 500 freestyle (5:24.62) for Irvine (5-7).
