World IN BRIEF : WEST BANK : Palestinians Say Settler Fired on Them

Palestinian students said an Israeli opened fire on them, wounding a 16-year-old, as they walked to school in the West Bank. The boy was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the back and stomach, but Palestinian and Israeli authorities did not immediately confirm the students’ account of the shooting. An Israeli military source challenged the story entirely. Palestinian police and the Israeli police and army said they were investigating.
