Egyptians to Get Training in Stock Regulation: Arthur Levitt, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, signed an agreement for training Egyptians and other Arabs. Also signing the memorandum of understanding was Abdel-Hamid Ibrahim, chairman of the Egyptian Capital Markets Authority, which oversees Egypt’s stock and bond markets. A statement issued after the signing said the agreement is the first with a market authority in the Middle East. Under it, the SEC will host Egyptian regulators at training programs in Washington.
