Fullerton Walks On by Mt. San Jacinto, 7-6

Poncho Ruiz walked in the bottom of the 10th inning to force home the winning run as Fullerton edged Mt. San Jacinto, 7-6, on the second day of the Hornet Hardball Classic tournament at Fullerton College.
Fullerton (21-9) scored in seven different innings. Dan Gusman had an RBI single in the ninth to tie the score, 6-6. Gusman finished four for five with two RBIs.
Fullerton reliever Chris Kelly pitched four shutout innings, giving up four hits, to run his record to 3-0.
Earlier, Curt Lee was five for five, raising his season average to .451, to lead Fullerton to an 8-3 victory over Southwestern.
Chris Piersoll (3-0) earned the victory and George Hart notched his first save with four shutout innings.
Dons win two--Rancho Santiago pounded out 31 runs in two games. Scott Glasser was four for four with four RBIs in the Dons’ 15-7 victory over Los Angeles Mission and five Rancho Santiago players homered in the Dons’ 16-1 rout of Los Angeles Valley.
The Dons (24-7) won all four of their games in the two-day tournament.
