A 55-year-old Meiners Oaks man who died while being arrested on suspicion of child molestation was identified Thursday as Gerald White, the coroner said.
White suffered an acute heart attack Wednesday and was pronounced dead at the Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, said Jim Wingate, chief deputy in the Ventura County coroner’s office.
White was arrested by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies after an 11-year-old Meiners Oaks girl alleged that White, who was a family friend, molested her and took nude photographs of her last Friday when she visited him at his home, authorities said.
Sheriff’s officials said an investigation is continuing.
