Valleywide : City Sponsors Paper Recycling Program
- Share via
In an effort to reduce landfill waste, San Fernando Valley businesses are encouraged to clean up their offices by recycling old files under a free, city-sponsored program, City Councilwoman Laura Chick’s office announced.
Community Recycling and Resource Recovery of Sun Valley will collect paper from company loading docks in the Valley and Burbank-Glendale by appointment, said Katie Gerber, the company’s recycling coordinator. Eligible materials include clean paper such as newspapers, phone books and notebook, photocopier and colored paper. Paper towels and food wrappers will not be accepted, she said.
The service is free to all Valley businesses and there is no limit on the quantity of paper that can be recycled. Companies are not required to separate the different types of paper, Gerber said.
The paper is processed at the company’s Sun Valley facility and sold to mills.
To make a pickup appointment, call Gerber at (818) 767-6000, Ext. 209.
