Driving Range Event to Benefit Red Cross

To encourage residents to give money or blood to the American Red Cross in Santa Ana, a cellular phone company is sponsoring a Sunday fund-raiser at a driving range in Newport Beach.
The AirTouch-Red Cross Blood Drive Challenge calls for golfers to pledge $10 or to donate a pint of blood for a chance to out-distance sports celebrities, including Los Angeles Clipper Brent Barry.
The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at Pelican Hill Golf Club, 22872 Pelican Hill Road South. Information: (714) 222-8564.
