Error-Prone 49ers Lose to UCLA, 13-7

Long Beach State committed five errors in its regular-season finale and lost to UCLA, 13-7, in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday night at UCLA.
The five errors were the second-highest total for the 49ers this season and led to four unearned runs. The Bruins (37-13) were led by former Corona del Mar standout Tim DeCinces, who had four hits and four runs batted in.
Long Beach State (34-22) scored three runs in the sixth to make it 8-6, but the Bruins answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Casey Snow had two doubles and two runs scored for Long Beach, which opens Big West tournament Friday at Cal State Fullerton.
