Sonora Rallies in Fifth to Defeat Troy and Secure Playoff Berth

Erika Lewis singled in the go-ahead run as Sonora rallied for two runs in the fifth to beat Troy, 3-2, and advance to the Southern Section playoffs.
With the victory Friday, Sonora (17-12-1, 6-5) finished third in the Freeway League.
Troy led, 2-1, going into the fifth but Harmoni McDaniel singled to drive in Natalie Garcia and tie it, 2-2.
Stephanie Santana scored the winning run the single by Lewis who had with two hits and two RBIs. Troy finished 15-11, 5-6.
In the Golden West League:
Ocean View 2, Rosary 1--Winning pitcher Sara Gulla, who had two RBIs, broke a 1-1 tie by singling home her sister, Leah, with one out in the bottom of the seventh for host Ocean View (15-10, 7-2). Laura Fulton had three hits for Rosary (20-9, 8-2).
Ocean View plays at Westminster today with the league title at stake.
Westminster 11, Santa Ana 1 (5, mercy)--Chrissy Keene had a two-run homer in the first and a three-run homer in the second for fifth-ranked Westminster (21-5, 8-1).
Saddleback 5, Tustin 1--Monica Espinoza (three hits) had two RBIs and scored in a Saddleback’s five-run fifth inning.
In the Century League:
El Modena 8, Villa Park 0--El Modena (16-11, 6-5) earned an automatic playoff spot by finishing third. Seeley Bair hit a two-run triple in the first and Jessica Keenan put the game away with a bases-loaded double in the sixth. Villa Park finished 11-15, 5-6.
