BURBANK — Police arrested a 25-year-old Sylmar man in a fatal stabbing outside a nightclub.
Anthony Bernard Castillo was booked on suspicion of murder and was held without bail at the Burbank city jail, said Burbank Police Sgt. Tim Stehr. A knife believed to have been used in the slaying was recovered from Castillo’s home by police.
Police believe Castillo and the victim, Christopher Webb, 22, of North Hollywood, got into an argument in the parking lot of Bobby McGee’s at Olive Avenue and 1st Street. When patrons began leaving the bar shortly before 2 a.m., Webb was found with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead an hour later at a local hospital, Stehr said.
Stehr said both men were regular patrons of the bar and were known to other customers. Police do not know what the men argued about or the motive for the killing, he said.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crime to contact the Burbank Police Department at (818) 238-3000.
