Power Outage Disrupts School Board Meeting

Due to a power outage that left education officials working by flashlight, this week’s normally scheduled Anaheim City School District board meeting has been continued to Tuesday.
Board President Betty Patterson called an intermission Tuesday after the power went off at 7:51 p.m. But when power was not quickly restored, the board decided to dispense with some routine matters, then awarded two bids for roofing work and one for the installation of portable classrooms on two campuses. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
The outage was caused by a short circuit at an electrical substation that affected about 14,300 utility customers in Anaheim.
The continued school board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Staff Development Center, 1001 S. East St.
