Levin Is Named to Library Commission

Citing her professional experience and years of community service, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has appointed Sherman Oaks resident Helen Levin to the County Library Commission.
“I’m very happy to welcome Helen as one of my representatives to the commission,” Yaroslavsky announced.
“As someone trained in bibliography and research with professional library experience in her native Ukraine--and deeply involved here with a wide range of community activities--Helen will be a great addition.”
Levin is currently executive director of the Assn. of Soviet Jewish Emigres and the West Hollywood Russian Community Center.
She has also served as a council member for the Bureau of Jewish Education and the Women’s Advisory Council for West Hollywood.
In her new role on the 15-member Library Commission, Levin will advise the county librarian and Board of Supervisors on library policy, administration and service.
