NATIONWIDE : Postal Service Hits 90% Delivery Goal

With California leading the way, the Postal Service announced it had achieved an unprecedented 90% on-time rate for overnight delivery of first-class mail within metropolitan areas. California reached a 92% on-time rate during March, April and May, the best among the Postal Service’s 10 regions. Southern California, at 93%, was the strongest area within the state. Postmaster General Marvin T. Runyon Jr. pledged two years ago to achieve a 90% on-time delivery rate nationally for mail sent within metropolitan areas.
