An arrest warrant was issued for the lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots after he walked away Wednesday from a Pasadena drug rehabilitation center, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said.
Scott Weiland, 28, of Topanga was arrested near Pasadena in May 1995 by sheriff’s deputies who said they found cocaine in his car and heroin in his wallet. He checked in and out of voluntary drug rehabilitation centers after his arrest, but in April was ordered by a judge to spend four to six months at Impact House.
Weiland had permission to leave the facility only if accompanied by a counselor, the district attorney’s office said.
