Maybe it was all the flag waving that cooled things off. Even with thousands of barbecues going, temperatures in the Valley on Thursday were tolerable, considering what’s ahead. In Van Nuys and Woodland Hills, the mercury reached 95 and 100 degrees, respectively. Expect the weather to heat up for the rest of the holiday weekend.
