NEW MEXICO : British Officer Believed Murdered
- Share via
FBI agents scoured northern New Mexico for the body of a British army major they believe was murdered by two Alabama prison escapees. Maj. David Nichols, vice commander at a British defense ministry language school, was last seen in Colorado on May 20 but his rental car was later found dumped in a lake near Terre Haute, Ind. The two convicts, who had escaped police custody in Alabama, were this week recaptured in Terre Haute. The FBI said it’s believed that the convicts, Michael Thompson and Roger Yeadon, seized the major’s car in New Mexico and then killed him and dumped his body before driving to Indiana in his rental car.
