Representatives from more than 40 state and local government and community agencies are expected to be on hand to distribute information and answer questions Saturday at the 16th annual State Government Day at Panorama Mall in Panorama City.
The Department of Motor Vehicles, the California Highway Patrol, Boys & Girls Club, Wildlife Waystation and the Valley Community Clinic will be among the organizations setting up displays and handing out information at the free event, which is sponsored by Assembly Democratic Leader Richard Katz.
The Department of Animal Regulation will bring its Pet Mobile with cats and dogs available for adoption.
Louise Marquez, manager of Panorama Mall, said the purpose of State Government Day is to help the public learn about the myriad resources and programs in the community that many people are unaware of.
State Government Day activities are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Panorama Mall, 8401 Van Nuys Blvd.
