ANAHEIM — Printrak International Inc. has been awarded a $3.2-million contract to upgrade the automated fingerprint identification system operated by the Sheriff’s Department in Harris County, Texas.
The Printrak system, which is scheduled to be operating by April 1997, will enable the Harris County agency to double the size of its database to 1 million records over the next five years, eliminate paper fingerprint files and expand applications in managing one of the nation’s largest jails. The department is based in Houston.
