2 Graduates Named to Service Academies

Congressman Anthony Beilenson, whose district includes the Conejo Valley, has appointed graduates from two Ventura County high schools to United States service academies.
Michael S. Gordon, son of Steven and Susan Gordon of Agoura, has been appointed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. Gordon is a 1996 graduate of Oak Park High School.
The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., is where Nicolas Leclerc, a 1996 graduate of Thousand Oaks’ Westlake High School, will serve his appointment. Nicolas, whose parents Alan and Bobbi Leclerc now live in Shingle Springs near Sacramento, was recruited by the Navy swim team.
Upon graduation from the academies, Gordon and Leclerc will be commissioned as officers and will serve at least six years in the military, the Democratic lawmaker said.
