THE PASTY LOOK IS OUT

Gymnast Andreas Wecker leaves nothing to chance when it comes to pleasing the judges.
Asked why he always seems to be tanner than his teammates, Wecker said he uses a tanning bed once a week for 30 minutes.
“I have my own tanning bed at home,” he said. “It certainly has an aesthetic effect if you’re nicely tanned out there than if you’re all white.”
The German had the highest score Saturday in the first round of the men’s team compulsory competition. He scored a 57.3 as Germany scored a first-round high of 282.147.
Wecker won a silver medal and two bronzes in Barcelona, and placed fourth in the all-around.
