Willie J. Hagan, a top administrator at the University of Connecticut, has been appointed vice president of administration at Cal State Fullerton.
Hagan, who will begin his new job Aug. 5, was chosen by University President Milton A. Gordon after a nationwide search that yielded more than 75 candidates.
“His diverse administrative background, as well as his extensive experience in public higher education, makes him an ideal fit with the specific responsibilities and duties of our administration,” Gordon said of Hagan.
Hagan’s duties will include responsibility for a $6-million budget and supervision of a staff of 200. He will be one of four senior executive officers in the president’s cabinet involved in the overall planning and management of the university.
Hagan, who was the associate vice president for administration at the University of Connecticut and holds a doctoral degree in psychology from that campus, was hired there in 1986 and has served in various administrative posts.
