Woman Gives Birth to All-Male Set of Quintuplets

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A woman at Baptist Medical Center has given birth to five boys in a rare instance of an all-male set of quintuplets. Amy Fielder Guttensohn gave birth Thursday, and Mom and the kids--possibly the first such set of quints in the U.S.--are in good health, a hospital spokesman said.
The babies ranged in weight from 2.14 pounds to 2.4 pounds, and two are identical twins, he said. He didn’t say whether Guttensohn had taken fertility drugs, but she and her husband, Eric, knew they were going to have five boys.
