Drug User Admits to Raping, Killing Prostitutes

TRENTON, N.J. — A crack cocaine user has confessed to raping and strangling four prostitutes during sex-for-drugs exchanges, police said. A prostitute who managed to escape after being raped was able to identify Anthony Balaam, 31, of Trenton, they said. Balaam met his victims before dawn beginning in October 1994 within two miles of his home, officers said.
