A 36-year-old woman apparently drowned while swimming in a pool at the Canoga Park condominium complex where she lived, Los Angeles police said.
Lee Yuurann was apparently swimming laps alone in the pool in the middle of a large complex in the 7500 block of Shoup Avenue on Wednesday evening, said Los Angeles Police Det. Rick Swanston.
She was found at the bottom of the pool at 6:45 p.m. by a neighbor, who summoned others for help and attempted to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Yuurann was pronounced dead at the scene.
Swanston said the woman had gone to the pool, which was fenced and locked, while her 10-year-old son went to play at a neighbor’s unit nearby.
Police found no evidence of foul play and are awaiting results of a coroner’s autopsy to determine the cause of death, Swanston said.
