UCLA begins full squad two-a-day drills today at 9:30 a.m., but the full squad will be minus four players.
Wide receiver Brad Melsby, who caught 12 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns last season as a freshman, will redshirt after tearing a ligament in his left knee during the spring. Tight end/long snapper Jason Bendinelli, who redshirted last season, has been found to have diabetes and will not play. Flanker/defensive back Erik Holcomb has given up football because of recurring concussions. And incoming freshman Langston Woodberry, from Montclair Prep, has decided not to play football.
