Simi Valley teens who want a voice in local government are invited to apply for seats on the city’s Youth Council.
Members of the 24-person panel are appointed by the City Council and meet twice each month to discuss youth-related concerns in Simi Valley. Panelists also advise city officials on issues that affect local children and teens.
Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 19 and live in Simi Valley. The youths serve one year.
Application forms are available at City Hall, the city’s Development Services Building, the Simi Valley Library and at local junior and senior high schools.
The filing deadline is Sept. 27.
