Third ‘Days of Dialogue’ to Focus on Violence
- Share via
The Los Angeles City Council has scheduled a third “Days of Dialogue” of citywide workshops--this one on ways of combating neighborhood violence--on Sept. 27 and 28.
The public participation sessions, initiated by Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas, are coordinated by the city attorney’s dispute resolution program.
Previous sessions have focused on race relations and affirmative action.
Ridley-Thomas said the upcoming session is aimed at addressing the “sense of hopelessness that has engulfed the lives” of thousands of urban neighborhoods plagued by gang activity, drive-by shootings, robberies and other violent acts.
