An Oxnard man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and fleeing the scene of an accident after allegedly running into a cyclist on Hueneme Road, police say.
Bonifacio Villa, 32, was arrested at his home Wednesday night after witnesses gave police his car’s license number. He is being held at Ventura County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Cyclist George Martinez of Port Hueneme was sent to St. John’s Regional Medical Center and released after being treated for minor injuries.
Police say Villa swerved into the right shoulder and struck Martinez with the right mirror of his truck, knocking him to the ground.
