GOP Congress
Just a darn minute. How can the Democrats possibly blame any shortcomings of this Clinton administration on the Republican Congress? If my memory serves me, the good news these last four years has been mostly the product of that very Congress. Ronald Reagan and George Bush both tried unsuccessfully for the line-item veto.
Also as to welfare reform, the Democratic Congress for years held it captive. Now it’s broken free and is trying to make some inroads into the entrapment of the poor.
I only hope that the voters will stay steady as we go down these perilous waters. If Bill Clinton wins, as it looks like he will, and the Democrats win the majority in Congress, there will be no checks or balances and God help America. We will have nothing but smoke and mirrors.
