Authorities say a body found last week in the Hungry Valley Vehicular Recreation Area near the Ventura-Los Angeles county line is probably a transient from the Los Angeles area.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies went to Los Angeles on Monday as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of the man who authorities believe was in his early 20s, said Sheriff’s Capt. Larry Roberts.
“The autopsy was performed on Saturday, but we still don’t have a confirmed cause of death,” Robertson said.
The body had been outdoors for at least a week when it was found by a park aide, authorities said.
Authorities said the body shows no sign of gunshot wounds or other injuries.
