Parade Bids Farewell to Marines Battalion

Residents may take part in a farewell parade Saturday for a Marine Corps battalion that was “adopted” by the city in July.
The parade, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, will honor the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines Regiment, which is leaving in November on a six-month deployment to Okinawa and the Western Pacific Ocean.
