BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
St. Bonaventure 37, Fillmore 44, Oak Park 49, Carpinteria 104--Juniors Matthew Torres, Fritz Knoll and Adam Sepulveda placed second, fourth and seventh to pace the Seraphs in the first Tri-Valley League meet of the season at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura.
Torres clocked 16:47 over the three-mile course with Knoll at 17:24 and Sepulveda at 17:56 for St. Bonaventure, the No. 3-ranked team in the Southern Section Division V poll.
Newbury Park 21, Simi Valley 36; Newbury Park 20, Royal 41; Simi Valley 22, Royal 35--Ross Wood, Mitch Beck and Zack Plaut placed second, third and fifth for Newbury Park in the Marmonte League meet at Corriganville Park in Simi Valley.
Wood clocked 16:44 over the three-mile course with Beck at 17:04 and Plaut at 17:54.
GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
Foothill League Meet No. 1--Sophomore Lauren Fleshman and senior Julie Harris placed first and second to lead Canyon, the defending State Division I champion, in the meet at Griffith Park.
Fleshman clocked 17:28 over the three-mile course with Harris at 18:05 as the Cowboys went 5-0 in the meet that was scored as a series of dual meets.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Van Nuys 5, North Hollywood 2--Leslie Musser, Newsha Mohajeri and Tina Trinh recorded singles sweeps for the Wolves (2-2) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at Van Nuys.
Harvard-Westlake 16, Notre Dame 2--Amanda Countner and Kelley Hnker won three doubles matches by 6-0 scores for the Wolverines (5-2, 3-1) in a Mission League match at Valley College.
Royal 11, Channel Islands 7-- Sarah Parola and Gina Decho dropped only two games in sweeping three doubles sets for the Highlanders (3-6, 1-3) in a Marmonte League match.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Royal d. Channel Islands, 15-5, 15-10, 15-5--Nikki Guerra had 11 kills and Maryl Mashburn had 12 service points and 17 assists for the Highlanders (4-2, 3-1) in a Marmonte League match at Royal.
Thousand Oaks d. Simi Valley, 15-9, 16-14, 15-10--Nicole Massey had 16 kills and Marie Middleton added 15 kills and 10 digs for the Lancers (3-2, 2-2) in a Marmonte League match.
Agoura d. Newbury Park, 15-13, 10-15, 15-7, 11-15, 15-7--Danielle Aglium had 18 kills and 26 digs and Tahleen Varian had 13 kills and 26 digs for the Chargers (3-2, 3-1) in a Marmonte League match at Newbury Park (0-4).
Poly d. Canoga Park, 15-7, 15-13, 15-13--Gaby Gallardo had nine kills and Adina Mori added 30 assists and six kills for the Parrots (3-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference opener at Canoga Park (3-1).
Saugus d. Quartz Hill, 15-8, 15-9, 5-15, 15-12--Cynthia Slankard had 10 kills and Nicole Gettagno added nine for the Centurions (3-1) in a match at Quartz Hill.
Hart d. Louisville, 13-15, 16-14, 15-10, 15-8--Jennifer Borncamp had 17 kills and Colleen Miller added 12, but the Royals (3-3) fell to Hart (5-1) at Louisville.
MEN’S SOCCER
The Master’s 2, Dominican 0--Mark Ruhlman, playing in his first game since suffering a broken foot in August, scored early in the second half for the Mustangs (6-3-1), who also got a goal from Joel Murphy.
