Woman Arrested Who Missed Court Date
A woman police wanted in connection with failing to make a scheduled court appearance was captured early Tuesday morning after a five-hour standoff with the Special Weapons and Tactics team.
Members of the team fired tear gas into her apartment to force her out, according to Sgt. Dan Mastro of the West Valley Division. Police did not release the woman’s name.
Mastro said the incident began at about 10 p.m. Monday when a bail bondsman who was facing a loss of bail to the court because the woman had not made her appearance went to her home in the 23100 block of Bigler Street.
The bail bondsman reported to the police that the woman had a gun.
Five hours later, officers arrested her for the warrant and also on suspicion of interfering with a police investigation.
She suffered a minor hand injury in the incident, Mastro said.
