Besides the local election, another race is going on in the city: the contest for the title Man of the Year.
Four candidates are seeking the title, bestowed by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division. The man winning the most votes, at a cost of $1 a vote, will donate half the money to charity.
The other half of each candidate’s earnings will benefit the Women’s Division student scholarship fund.
Those seeking votes are Floyd Farano, an attorney and Chamber of Commerce president; Amador Nunez, an Anaheim police officer with the DARE program; John Poole, manager of Anaheim code enforcement; and Richard Chavez, president of Anaheim Firefighters Assn.
Votes to candidates may be mailed to the chamber’s Women’s Division, 100 S. Anaheim Blvd., Suite 300, Anaheim, CA 92805 and must be received by Oct. 31.
