Murphy 14, St. Genevieve 12--Kevin Scanlan recovered a fumble at the Murphy 17-yard line with 1:42 left to preserve a Santa Fe League victory for Murphy (2-4, 2-1) at Birmingham High.
James Heim threw a 13-yard pass to Peter Polk for the game-winning score in the third quarter. Heim ran for the two-point conversion despite being hit several times behind the line of scrimmage.
The Valiants (2-4, 1-2) scored on runs of 27 yards by Clifford Rivera and 11 yards by Gary Yamashita. Rivera led St. Genevieve with 62 yards in 12 carries.
