Injuries Spur Focus on Intersection

Following two accidents in which pedestrians were struck by cars near Thousand Oaks High School, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department has designated the intersection of Avenida De Las Flores and North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks its Traffic Tip of the Week.
Through Saturday, deputies will cite pedestrians who cross the roadway when it is unsafe, said Sgt. Ken Bailey of the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau.
In the past six months, two teenagers have been hit by cars as they illegally walked or ran into the street, Bailey said.
The intersection, which has clearly marked crosswalks, is situated south of Thousand Oaks High School.
